Hello! I am Emily Hart-Roberts.

I have a passion for documenting life. When I was very young and something would catch my eye,  I would blink down hard and pretend that I was taking a photograph of it to remember always. Although I've changed a bit since then, I am still obsessed with recording life's fleeting moments.

I studied the art and science of photography at Brooks Institute, and had a dream to become a photojournalist. Photojournalism however, involves photographing both the happy and the tragic aspects of life and I wanted to pursue the happy moments much more than the sad.

This is how I discovered wedding photography. How lucky am I to be able to photograph people on the happiest day of their lives? I have the best profession in the world.

Each photo session, party, wedding is different from all the others. That's what makes my job so dynamic and interesting. After photographing weddings for over 20 years now, no two have been exaclty alike. The tear that escapes a father's eye as he is asked to dance with his newly married baby girl is always fresh and raw like it's the first one I've witnessed. The unexpected embrace of a child with their newly betrothed parent at their wedding, the wonder in a baby's eyes when she sees her mother's face and the spontanous laughter that erupts between people who know eachother so well are all fleeting moments in time that I love to photograph. Capturing those emotional interactions between people is what I live for in my work. That's where the magic truly happens. Let me be there to capture it for you.
